Thankfully, I checked on the coupon Friday morning and we realized the tickets were for that day and were able to go!

The only garden in Nashville participating was Cheekwood. We’ve been to Cheekwood once before, for the Chihuly exhibit so Friday was a much shorter visit.

I love finding free things to do, especially now that certainly can’t pay to go out on dates. I am looking forward to the summer because there are so many free things to do for fun in Nashville!

I’ve tried several moisturizers, but inevitably I end up with oily/dry combination skin. I can deal with the oily, but the dry is just awful, and so I finally found a way to keep the moisture in my skin and the flaking to a minimum.

The secret is coconut oil!

From everything I’ve read, coconut oil is great at keeping skin moisturized AND it has antibacterial properties. Instead of just putting the plain oil on my skin (which you could do), I decided to whip it in my stand mixer.

Here is what I used. The small sample came in an Eco Emi box and the bottle I had actually bought when I was making my own magic shell topping which failed miserably.

I dumped the oil in the bowl.

Then I used the whisk attachment to whip it for several minutes. This is why I love my stand mixer, while it whipped I cleaned my kitchen.

When it’s thoroughly whipped, it will look like this.

The finale product

You can use any sort of container and I used what I had available. It really is that easy! I’ve used this as a moisturizer for two weeks now, along with the oil cleansing method. My skin is more oily, but it’s been doing great with minimal acne and dryness, so yay!
