Monday I came home after class to find out Gray lost his job. He’d only been there a few months, but we thought he was past the 3-month mark and good to go. Apparently not.

Monday I came home after class to find out Gray lost his job. He’d only been there a few months, but we thought he was past the 3-month mark and good to go. Apparently not.

I had my Pharm Hesi on Tuesday which I did better on that I thought I would, so that was some slight encouragement in the middle of chaos. I could use some serious prayers for this final on Monday. I’m studying today with a group and I’ll study all weekend, but let’s face it, I’m tired of school and the thought of studying for three days is awful, but it’s made worse by the fact that I won’t know my paper grade going into the final, so that gives me little motivation to study. So pray I will have motivation.

Gray has been very busy this week with meetings, an interview, and errands. We were excited for a date night that had been planned out (and paid for) in advance, for the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. Thursday night I was busy proclaiming this in twitter when I found out that it was actually THURSDAY night, not Saturday. So I’m pretty bummed about missing it and the wasted money. Totally not my week.

So here is where I am signing off until my final is done. I’m going to try to have the project 365 post up on Monday, but I may forget, my brain is spastic these days.

The only thing we “need” now is prayer and good thoughts. I know I am praying for the right job to be provided for Gray and for us to trust that God will provide. He always does.

What I really need to do is start putting down a to do list so that when I want to procrastinate, I at least procrastinate productively.

What I really need to do is start putting down a to do list so that when I want to procrastinate, I at least procrastinate productively.

I have a test on Monday, so I naturally want to do anything but study for said test! I had planned to blog about our weekend in Memphis/Little Rock, but I’m not yet to the point where I can do the post justice.

Instead, my mind is wandering in a thousand different directions and I attempt to study about cardiac problems, not exactly the most thrilling subject ever.

I can not believe that after Monday I will be on spring break. Technically I must finish out the rest of the week for the school’s calendar, but as far as I can remember, I have no other obligations. I’m planning to use my spring break to watch a lot of Mad Men, so I can catch up for the new season premiere later in March.

However, more surprising is that the semester is already halfway over. I’ve gotten used to being at home most of the time, but this was the first week that truly felt like it flew by, probably because I’ve procrastinated studying. I’m grateful that time has passed by so quickly, because as I’ve experienced before, it’s horrible to have to repeat a semester, you feel like your life is on hold. It’s not much easier the second time around, but it’s helpful that I’m not taking extra and unnecessary classes.

So here I go, about to hit the books hard this weekend. I was hoping the weather outside would be awful because I’m horrible at keeping on task if it’s pretty. Unfortunately, other than being cold, it looks sunny, so I will be forcing myself to study and treating myself with the occasional television show or a few chapters of the book I am currently reading.

Is it summer yet?

I am currently sitting up in my bed with the laptop. It’s cold and rather than cuddling with the cat on the couch under a blanket, I’m cuddling with the laptop and the cat is trying her best to find a way to get my wedding rings, sitting on my nightstand. Yes, I take my wedding rings off at home/when I sleep because my ring fingers wells up otherwise.

It’s been a dreary few days here in Nashville and I think we can finally admit defeat, winter is here. It’s not that I dislike winter, but I was enjoying being able to take daily walks with my husband and not having to fear for my life while driving at night on the interstate. You see, winter here occasionally brings snow, but the snow usually fades quickly into black ice. Tennessee drivers have a reputation to uphold, one that usually leaves people honking or screaming at us. Naturally, that disposition doesn’t change just because some white stuff is on the ground, ice or not.

So here I sit, waiting impatiently for my final test grade. My calculation was a good outcome, but I’m dying to know if I calculate correctly, because I was super close to the pass/fail line. It won’t be the end of the world if I did fail, except it would be by one point and it’s just plain annoying.

I’m actually not feeling entirely up to par. My sinuses are going crazy because our weather can’t make up its mind. I’ve taken my allergy medicine daily and I’m beginning to think it’s time for a change.

Change is good and we’ve done some great change around here. As previously posted, on of our goals this month is to not spend extra money and to try to pay off another student loan. We’ve done great so far with the spending part, not giving in to going out once in the past eight days. I really wanted to cave last Saturday, but that’s why I have Gray to tell me no, heh. As far as the loan, it’s budgeted to be paid off, but we’re waiting on a paycheck to do so. Maybe by the end of the next week?! It’s so much fun paying off debt. I once told Brooke that it’s easier for me to keep a budget when we have debt because I want the debt paid off so I will make sure all the extra money goes towards paying the bill. So anyways, I’m sure one day when we have a mortgage, I will attack it with a vengeance!

Well, it’s time to go cook, so let me know how your life has been because school makes it hard to keep track of everyone’s blog/twitter/facebook all the time and let’s face it, I never call anyone.

This decision was not [...]]]> I made a decision back in October to withdraw from my Med-Surg lecture class. I had just completed the clinical portion (and passed!) but I was failing the class, horribly. After a meeting with the professors who teach that class, I made a decision to withdraw and try again next semester.

This decision was not made lately, I spent several days in agony. I went through the stages of grief, and my poor husband had to put up with me through all the angst and disappointment.

I had a meeting with the professors on Monday and by Friday afternoon I had withdrawn from the class, taking a W. It’s not something I’m proud of, but I feel like I made the absolute best decision for me and my family. This spring I will be taking that class and a physical education class, and I won’t be working. It’s another sad decision, but unfortunately, I can’t work at my job without being a full-time student. Also, I need as much time as possible to study for this evil class and kick its butt.

Other than nursing school, I’m now jobless and enjoying some quality time with my cat and television. :)

I’m not exactly sure of what I’d like to do with nursing. I did want to be an OB nurse, but now I’m not so sure. I think I [...]]]> Today is my last day of clinical for the year, woot! I’m both happy and sad, but mostly happy because I’m so tired of school.

I’m not exactly sure of what I’d like to do with nursing. I did want to be an OB nurse, but now I’m not so sure. I think I might like being a nursery nurse, because that’s the clinical I’ve enjoyed the most, so far. Labor and delivery was fine, but I didn’t get to experience as much as I originally would have liked.

I’m just glad that we get to experience many different clinicals, because it may turn out that I really like Pediatrics or maybe Critical Care. I’m glad to get the full experience, and our last semester we get to choose an area we like more, so I’m looking forward to those clinicals.

So, here’s to the end of the semester, may I survive!
