Anniversary in Nashville
I know it’s been a week since our anniversary, but at least I am posting about, considering I skipped the Honeymoon/wedding shebang…. oops.
Anyways, we saved up and decided to dinner at Mikado, dessert at the Cheesecake Factory, with a night at Hotel Preston. We knew about the hotel from various times we’ve gone to the area and Gray’s family had stayed and enjoy it. Plus, his first name is Preston (for those who don’t know) and we thought it was fitting.
The hotel itself is amazingly chic and savvy. For instance, we could have gotten a spa package in our hotel room, very nice. Upon checking in we requested a fish for our room. It was one of the perks that they had on a list and we decided to go for it. I named the fish Isabella, because I had both a male and female beta fish and it looked more female, but if it was a male, Isabello it is! hah…
Anyways, I was starving when we got there and room service wasn’t opening until 5 p.m. but we knew milk and cookies were on the check-in list so we called and asked about them. Turns out, we basically waited until 5 p.m. for those milk and cookies AND we had to pay for them. Oh well. A few Friends episodes later we got the milk and cookies and decided to get ready for dinner.
Dinner was at Mikado (like I said) and we really should have split our meal again, because WAY TOO MUCH FOOD… and the salad was delish… :) My fortune said I shouldn’t be spending money and Gray’s… well I don’t remember but it wasn’t that exciting. However, someone at the table with us got one that said he was destined to be great in the medical field… I was like, “Why wasn’t that mine?!”
Anyways, we nixed the Cheesecake idea because we had free vouchers for cocktails at the hotel’s bar and we decided to order cheesecake through room service. Gray asked the bartender for a sweet beer and she gave him the best look EVER and we both ended up with margaritas. I had a margarita less than a week before this date the day of my last final. Both times my face flushed and I googled it. Apparently Asians get this syndrome of a red flush after drinking… where is this mysterious Asian heritage? Anyway, the cheesecake was awesome and then we slept on a lovely king bed. ;)
Breakfast was free because we had vouchers but we still had plans to visit the Pancake Pantry… so off we went to the Apple store. I played with an iPad and it’s pretty much a bigger version of a iPod. I’ve decided that if I get an iPhone this fall, there really isn’t a need for an iPad, at least not anytime soon. My macbook still works great so yeah, not really needed… but the iPad still is pretty awesome, although I am not sure I’d want to use it in class to type on without an additional keyboard.
After Apple, we went to the Dragon park. I’d heard of this park before and we found out it was close to the Pancake Pantry so off we went! It took us ten minutes to find a parking spot and we were there for like five minutes, but got some great pictures.
Parking at the Pancake Pantry was insane and it took us twenty-five or thirty minutes to find a spot and be seated but my pancakes were the BEST EVER. Seriously.
That was pretty much the entire anniversary. We really enjoyed celebrating year two of marriage and I still can’t believe we’re currently working on year three. :)
ETA: I kept forgetting to add pictures to this post, but they are on my fb account if you’d like to view them and are friends with me.
