Post Halloween
Whenever I decided to do NaBloPoMo, I had no idea that I would kick off with a weekend full of good stories to tell. Thursday as soon as Gray got off work/school, we decided to take the miata to Autozone. The battery had been dying a lot lately so we needed to see if it had gone bad.
After waiting forever at Autozone, we finally had the battery on a charger and decided to walk to the library while we waited. When we came back, about 25 minutes later, they still didn’t know if it was bad or not.
At this point I was a little ticked. They implied they would know in 15 minutes whether or not we would need to buy a new battery. I was not impressed. So, we went next door to McDonalds. I decided that we would be eating dinner there because I was too tired from dealing with all the mess to cook.
McDonalds is having their Monopoly game until November 3rd and we got a bunch of cool game pieces, but no winners. I told Gray that since we spent money on dinner, we’d probably have to buy the battery as well.
We finished up and went back to Autozone. Sure enough, we had to buy a new battery because our old battery had started to smoke!
“How much is the battery going to be?” Gray asked.
The old man rang us up and gasped himself to see the only battery in stock for our little car: $99.
My hate for the car went up as we ended up paying a whole lot of money for the little car.
We were lucky to have some money set aside just for this type of emergency, but I still can’t help feel like my money was robbed from me.
